Another mugging reported on North Side

Police say two suspects pushed a man down and stole his wallet early Thursday morning in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.Police responded just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the 3100-block of North Clark in Lakeview. They say two men wearing baseball caps and dark clothing pushed another man down then stole his wallet. The offenders then fled, leaving the man with only a vague description of the attackers.

The victim was uninjured.

In light of the recent muggings in Lincoln Park and Lakeview, Chicago police and some North Side aldermen are hosting a public meeting where they'll provide information on personal safety.

Initially, there were four strong-armed robberies in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, but since then there have been reports about other robberies and attempted robberies in the Lakeview, Rogers Park and Ravenswood neighborhoods.

Police recommend residents avoid traveling alone in dark, late hours of the night.

The public meeting is scheduled to take place at the Lincoln Park Cultural Center at 2045 Lincoln Park West at 7 p.m. Thursday.
