Methadone clinic's medical director resigns

August 17, 2009 (WAUKEGAN, Ill.) The Green Dragonfly Clinic has been the subject of scrutiny following the methadone-related death of a 30-year-old patient.

Keller's last day as medical director will be September 7.

The clinic opened in October of last year to treat patients for heroin addiction.

Steve Vaughn, of Lindenhurs, died after mixing methadone with Xanax. Keller had prescribed the methadone through his role at the clinic but then investigated the cause of his death as the county coroner. He remains Lake County coroner.
