August 21, 2009 (ROBBINS, Ill.) --A struggling public library in the south suburbs is keeping its doors open with the help of federal funding. The William Leonard Library in Robbins has secured nearly $50,000 in federal funds since last year. That's due to the efforts of Congressman Bobby Rush.
Rush secured the earmark using the Metropolitan Library System as the fiscal agent for the suburban library districts.
The William Leonard Library has recently been struggling to find ways to cover its operating costs.
