Hammond teen's death ruled homicide

An autopsy determines 14-year-old Sarina Tatum of Hammond was killed from a gunshot wound to the head and her death has been ruled a homicide. Sarina Tatum was shot Wednesday night in the 5700-block of Columbia Avenue in Hammond.

Her death has been ruled a homicide.

Tatum was walking alone when she was shot. A suspect was seen fleeing the area on foot.

Police are investigating whether Sarina was the intended target or an innocent bystander.

The family of Sarina Tatum says they do not have enough money to pay for Sarina's services. They 've set up a fund at First Midwest Bank.
