The Will County state's attorney says Terry hit the girl, causing severe head injuries. She remained in the hospital at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn as of Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information on Terry's whereabouts is asked to call police.
Terry faces up to 30 years in prison if he's convicted. Police believe he's still in the area and may be on Chicago's South Side.
