Do heartburn drugs affect blood thinners?

Patients who take heartburn medication can feel better knowing they do not stop blood-thinning drugs such as Plavix from working. There was concerns that certain heartburn medications such as Nexium and Prilosec, combined with Plavix, increased the risk of heart patients having a second heart attack. This led regulators to issue warnings discouraging combined use unless essential.

These latest findings are published in the Lancet Medical Journal.
