September 2, 2009 (CHICAGO) --A Chicago Fire Department battalion chief has been suspended for sleeping on the job. Chief Dekalb Walcott reportedly slept through a fire call last June. The incident happened after a fire bomb was apparently thrown into a home on the city's South Side.
A second battalion chief handled the call and no one was injured.
Walcott will serve a 15-day suspension from his job that pays nearly $120,000 a year.
