September 4, 2009 --A company that originally resisted the Blu-ray DVD format has unveiled its first Blu-ray player. Toshiba's high-definition Blu-ray disc player includes a built-in ethernet connection. It supports interactive features like downloadable bonus scenes from movies.
Toshiba originally backed the rival HD DVD format. That format dissolved once major movie companies chose to support the Blu-ray format.
Toshiba's Blu-ray disc player hits the market in November. It's expected to sell for about $250.
