Report: Finances stressing out Americans

September 8, 2009 It finds that consumers continue to be overwhelmed by financial woes, including credit card debt, loss of health care insurance and personal loan issues.

More than 15.5 percent of consumers say their stress comes from credit card issues, including increased rates and penalty fees.

The report says consumer sentiment is at its lowest point since October of last year. However, there is also stronger consumer interest right now in shopping for big-ticket items such as homes and cars.
