Woman charged with DUI, child endangerment

September 13, 2009 (ELGIN, Ill.) Kiwana Perkins, 25, was arrested at 3:27 a.m. at the intersection of Kings Road and Amarillo Drive for alleged driving under the influence and endangering the life of a child, police said.

According to a police report, after Perkins was pulled over, she told officers that she had a 3-year-old sleeping at home by himself. Officers went to the home and found the child along in the residence.

Perkins is charged with DUI and child endangerment.
