School bus driver suspended

September 16, 2009 (CHICAGO) Chicago police are looking into allegations of "unlawful restraint" of a student who attends Murray Language Academy at 53rd and Kenwood.

The driver is employed by the Jewel's Bus Company.

Some parents at the school are upset after hearing about the incident.

"The school system, first of all, should have checked out who the bus drivers are because they're contracted, of course. The bus system should have done that. There's some history behind this man. He doesn't change at 50, maybe, 40 or 50 years old to decide he wants to do this. And that's what I'm livid about," said Hassan Boyer, parent.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
