Airlines gearing up for swine flu

With concerns about the flu, nervous travelers may be wondering what could be lying in wait while they're cooped up in a plane. Even the airlines are gearing up for the H1N1 swine flu. Carriers are now stocking planes with gloves, masks, alcohol wipes, and they say they're even stepping up their cleaning.

But, airlines insist, flying is not hazardous to your health. They claim airflow is continually exchanged with a combination of fresh air and recirculated air, which on most planes passes through a series of filters.

Still, in tight quarters germs can travel. Exposure doesn't mean you'll get sick, but passengers should be cautious.
