A 74-year-old man was found stabbed to death in southeast suburban Burnham. Warren Jones was found dead stabbed multiple times in his home at 140th and Torrence. One of his neighbors noticed that the back window of Jones's car was shattered in the building's parking lot.

When the neighbor went inside he saw the door to Jones's apartment open. That's when he called police.

"We're looking at all the options right now, but it tends to indicate that it was someone who he knew," said Chief Peter Belos, Burnham Police.

"He speaks to everybody, and he goes to church, and he's just a nice old man," said John Grizzard, neighbor.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is leading the investigation.
