Mother pleads for son to turn himself in

September 19, 2009 (CHICAGO) Kim Gonzalez says she fears for the public's safety with her son, Jason, on the run. The mother's brother, 48-year old Lance Goebel, was found shot to death inside their New Lenox Township home Thursday evening.

Police say Jason Gonzalez could have something to do with the murder of his uncle, but officials have not named him as a suspect.

"With him being out on the run and possibly hurting another person, I don't think these kids can take it, and if he still cares about them, he needs to turn himself in," Kim Gonzales said. "We suspected nothing. There was no indication to lead me to believe that he would ever commit murder or had so much anger towards my brother that he would do anything to harm him"

Police think Gonzalez may be driving a green 1997 Saturn with Illinois license plate number A869557. He is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
