Chicago police shot and killed a man early Sunday on the city's South Side. Around midnight, officers say they noticed a car on the 7900-block of South Kedzie wanted on a possible weapons violation.

Police approached the car and say the driver, 28-year-old Juan Robles, refused to comply. They say he sped off and crashed into two cars several blocks away.

Police report Robles tried to get away on foot, then turned and pointed a weapon at officers. Police fired at the suspect, killing him.

One officer sustained a minor injury.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the shooting.
