Around noon Sunday, police say Gomez was shopping in the 1000-block of North Salem Drive in Schaumburg with her 1-year-old daughter and the victim's maternal grandmother, who is the court-appointed custodial guardian for the victim.
Police say Gomez left with the grandmother's car with the victim inside and fled from the scene. An Amber Alert was issued around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Country Club Hills police found the mother and daughter around 6 p.m. Sunday. The child appeared to be unharmed, police said.
A judge has set bond at $10,000.
