Daley appoints new CTA board chairman

The Chicago Transit Authority could soon have a new board chairman.Mayor Daley appointed Terry Peterson to head the transportation agency.

Peterson is currently the vice president for government affairs for Rush University Medical Center. He previously served as CEO of the Chicago Housing Authority and is a former alderman.

Mayor Daley has recommended that the CTA board elect Peterson as chairman.

His appointment must be approved by the City Council.

Peterson would replace Carole Brown, who resigned last week.
