Suspect in deadly accident in court

Suspect was on parole from an earlier sentence
October 4, 2009 (CRESTWOOD, Ill.) Authorities say Bruce Dozier, 52, pf Markham faces charges of reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence of drugs, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving while under the influence of drugs and operation of uninsured motor vehicle.

The crash happened at the intersection of Cicero and Cal-Sag Road Thursday morning and led to one confirmed fatality. Police say Dozier's car was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Cicero when it hit other vehicles, hit a light pole and continued going further north on Cicero until it hit another light pole with such force it knocked the pole down.

Fifty-five-year-old Frederick Anderson was killed.

Cicero Avenue was closed between 135th Street and Cal-Sag temporarily. At least three different police departments responded to the scene from Crestwood, Alsip and Palos Heights.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections Web site, Dozier was jailed on reckless homcide charges in 2006. He was parolled last November, after serving two years of a six-year sentence.
