Steel co. cited for lack of fall preventions

A south suburban steel company faces a big fine for repeated workplace safety and health violations.The Occupational Safety And Health Administration cited Quinco Steel in Chicago Heights for not taking steps to prevent falls. The company also received citations for 11 other safety violations.

OSHA has slapped the company with fines totaling $110,000.

Quinco Steel has been given two weeks to address the safety issues and contest the citations and proposed penalties.
