Police say the gunman, Milton Wardlaw, had gotten into a altercation with another passenger prior to the shooting. When he got off the bus, he allegedly fired at the man he was arguing with but hit Salters.
Wardlaw is awaiting trial.
Slain teen remembered 1 year later
October 6, 2009 (CHICAGO) Kiyanna Salters, 17, was an innocent passenger when she was shot and killed a year ago Monday night.
Her family and friends held a prayer vigil at the stop where she died.
