Cop accused of stealing from sick co-worker

A Chicago police officer is facing charges for using a co-worker's debit card to take money from her bank account while she was in the hospital.George Porter, 46, is charged with one count of theft and two counts of deceptive practices.

Porter and the victim who has cancer both worked at the 3-1-1 call center.

In May, the victim asked porter to get her some groceries and gave him her debit card along with her pin number to pay for them. Porter withdrew $200 but did not buy groceries.

When the victim had to be hospitalized, porter allegedly withdrew 800 dollars from her account. Today, bond was set at 50-thousand dollars.
