Daley picks new inspector general

Mayor Daley has picked a long-time federal prosecutor to be Chicago's new inspector general.Joe Ferguson is the mayor's choice to replace David Hoffman, who resigned to run for U.S. Senate.

Ferguson has worked in the U.S. Attorney's office for the last 15 years.

The inspector general's job is to fight corruption in city government.

Ferguson's appointment has to be approved by City Council.
