Woman allegedly stole money for 'booze cruise'

October 15, 2009 (CHICAGO) Karen Huff, 50, was indicted Wednesday for stealing public funds and using the money to buy supplies for a "booze cruise" bus trip she was organizing for friends and co-workers, according to the office of Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez.

Huff was charged with official misconduct, forgery and attempted theft. She works as a project coordinator at Chicago's Chatham Senior Citizen Satellite Center.

Huff allegedly forged a supervisor's signature for money to buy food trays.

Huff pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $100,000, and Huff's next court date is November 18.
