A Chicago city worker has been indicted for the theft of funds intended for senior citizens.Karen Huff, 50, was indicted Wednesday for stealing public funds and using the money to buy supplies for a "booze cruise" bus trip she was organizing for friends and co-workers, according to the office of Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez.
Huff was charged with official misconduct, forgery and attempted theft. She works as a project coordinator at Chicago's Chatham Senior Citizen Satellite Center.
Huff allegedly forged a supervisor's signature for money to buy food trays.
Huff pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $100,000, and Huff's next court date is November 18.
