Keeping a job may be good for your health

October 15, 2009 A study of more than 12,000 people shows that retirees who take on temporary or part-time work have fewer major diseases and function better day to day.

However, only those who kept working in their career specialty seemed to enjoy the health perk.

Researchers think retirees who take on a whole new job in a foreign work environment end up being stressed. They say to trust your instincts; for some people making a clean break from a stressful job really is a good thing.
