Injection form of H1N1 vaccine arrives

October 15, 2009 (CHICAGO) As with the nasal form of the vaccine, supplies are limited and many of those who are getting the vaccine are healthcare workers.

At Rush University Medical Center, employees in high risk areas such as the neonatal intensive care unit are among the first to get the injection.

The Chicago Department of Public Health says it anticipates receiving a total of 54,000 doses of the vaccine in nasal spray and injection form.

As the weeks go by and the circle expands, CDPH plans to distribute the vaccine to retail pharmacies, colleges, universities and more.
