The accident occurred at 6:15 a.m. October 18 near the intersection of Ogden Ave. and Lombard Ave. in Berwyn.
Police say a black 2006 Dodge Charger driven by Patzin at the time of the accident has been recovered. .
Orlando Farias, 47, of Texas, was working when he was hit.Berwyn police say the Charger's front end was damaged by the collision, and its hood ornament fell off.
Farias was a part of a crew restriping the road after it was repaved.
"Traffic was flowing here. It was back and forth. Other cars stopped at the scene, once they saw the impact," said Detective Roger Montoro of Berwyn Police Department.
