McHenry Co. adds H1N1 clinics

November 4, 2009 (McHenry County, Ill) The flu mist is a nasal dosage and is not intended for pregnant women or adults younger than 50 with underlying conditions.

McHenry County officials said people who fall into the priority category for the nasal flu mist should call for appointment (815) 334-2800 or visit mcdh.info.

CLINICS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

  • Monday, November 9: 4pm-8pm; Marian Central Catholic High School, 1001 McHenry Ave., Woodstock
  • Thursday, November 12: 4pm-8pm; Marengo High School, 110 Franks Road, Marengo
  • Saturday, November 14: 3pm-7pm; McHenry County College, 8900 U.S. Hwy 14, Crystal Lake.

    "The clinics are part of a long-term campaign to protect our residents most at risk for the H1N1 virus," states Patrick J. McNulty, MCDH Public Health Administrator, in a release. "We ask that others be patient until more vaccine is received." Individuals who qualify for the nasal vaccine include:

  • healthy people 2-24 years of age,
  • healthy healthcare workers or first responders younger than 50, and
  • healthy caregivers of infants under 6 months of age who are younger than 50 years old.

    McHenry County does not have the injection H1N1 vaccine.
