November 17, 2009 --Federal sentencing hearings begin Wednesday for five men convicted of plotting to destroy the Sears Tower.The men were convicted in May of supporting terrorism. They were charged with plotting to attack the landmark building, which is now called the Willis Tower, as well as planning to bomb FBI offices.
Federal prosecutors are asking for maximum prison sentences.
The group's ringleader faces a maximum of 70 years in prison. The other four face between 30 and 50 years.
