Mayor forms committee for 2010 census

November 17, 2009 (CHICAGO) The Chicago Complete Count committee includes aldermen, county and city agency representatives, as well as other community leaders. They will work with Census Bureau officials to educate the public throughout the city on the importance of being counted.

"If Chicago's count is not accurate, it'll throw off the amount of federal funding we receive, every single federal dollar we are entitled to," said Mayor Daley.

The mayor also said Chicago's census office will be hiring thousands of temporary workers between now and spring of 2010.
