November 24, 2009 (CHICAGO) --A Chicago police officer got into a shootout with an armed robber at a hot dog stand on the South Side. A masked man with a gun apparently walked up to the east window of Jim's Original about 3 p.m. Monday afternoon and announced a robbery. The clerk then pointed out the uniformed officer placing an order at the west window.
The worker ducked as the suspect started firing at the officer. The officer returned fire.
A possible suspect was arrested a short time later.
No one was injured in the shootout.
