November 24, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
Despite the recession, more consumers are expected to shop for electronics this holiday season. Consumers spent 6-percent more on electronics in the first half of November compared to a year ago. The release of a hot new video game and earlier discounts on television sets helped spur the increase.
Pre-season sales trends are considered a good indicator for which items will post strong sales throughout the holidays.
Electronics sales were also up in September and October.
