Exercise cannot help heavy drinking's effects

Working out or exercising might help someone recovering from a hangover, but it does nothing to curb or undo health problems related to heavy drinking. A study by the British government found that about one in five people admit to exercising to "make up" for a night of drinking.

Britain's public health minister says that although regular exercise or physical activity is important to a person's overall health, it does not stop the onset of liver disease or other illnesses known to be related to high alcohol intake.
