Teen accused of poisoning mother in court

A northwest suburban teenager accused of poisoning his mother with anti-freeze appeared in court Friday.A judge ordered Michael Tangney, Jr., 18, of Lindenhurst held on $100,000 bond on a felony battery charge.

He's accused of pouring anti-freeze into a coffee maker, knowing his mother would use it.

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition last week after drinking the coffee, but she's expected to survive.
