More numbers come out on holiday shopping

November 29, 2009 (CHICAGO) 195 million shoppers were hitting the stores over the weekend, more than last year, however, shoppers spent less. Each spent an average of $343, down from $373 last year.

Some people shopping on Michigan Avenue said they're keeping an eye out for deals.

"Definitely more conservative, not shopping, not grabbing everything, just studying the prices a little bit more," Colleen Wallace said.

Retailers are hoping for stronger sales for Cyber Monday. Many are offering special online discounts and free shipping.
