Last month, the 25-year-old collapsed at the end of a match in Philadelphia.
Rodriguez's organs were donated to more than half a dozen people who needed transplants.
On Tuesday, he was remembered as a man who died doing what he loved.
"Ever since he was a little kid he always dreamed of being a world champion and he died in his quest to doing that," said Frankie Tafoya, Rodriguez's friend.
"He was a teacher, he was a mentor, amongst being a father, brother. Francisco was a great guy. And at the end the man never stopped giving," said George Hernandez, Rodriguez's trainer.
Rodriguez is survived by his wife and a 5-month-old daughter.
