December 2, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
Bail was denied Wednesday for a man accused of stabbing a woman and their child earlier this week. The woman, 18-year-old Tanisha Edwards, died of her wounds. Edwards' 2-month-old son remains hospitalized in critical condition.
McKerry Coleman, who is the father of the baby, is accused in the attack, which occurred Monday night in the 6700-block of South Evans. He faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
Coleman is due back in court on December 21.
