December 12, 2009 (CHICAGO) --
The FBI and police are investigating two bank robberies that occurred Friday evening just minutes apart. The first was at the MB Financial bank branch at 1400 16th Street in Oak Brook. Shortly after 5 p.m., a lone robber, described only as a white male, presented a note to a teller which threatened both a gun and bomb. He left the bank with an unknown amount of cash.
The second robbery was at a Chase bank branch, located at 5200 West Dempster in Skokie. Around 5:40 p.m., a lone robber entered the bank and handed a teller a note, announcing a robbery. He also escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
