Quinn calls for green jobs in Illinois

December 14, 2009 (CHICAGO) In a speech before the City Club of Chicago, Quinn said economic recovery and jobs are the biggest problems facing the state. His plan calls for providing tax credits to the state's auto industry.

Quinn also has proposed several ways to improve access to start-up capital.

The governor's plan also calls for expanding job training programs with a focus on veterans and on green jobs. His plan provides for investing in the green economy.

"There's no better way to help more people and no better social policy was ever devised than a good job," said Quinn.

Quinn said his plan will create jobs for today and in the future.
