The best cure for the winter doldrums may be a green garden, but where do you find that in winter? Most of our gardens are under snow now of course, but it's easy to surround yourself with all kinds of treats made from garden-grown ingredients.

Bonnie Tawes from Chicago's Lurie Garden showed ABC7 how to whip up some soothing antidotes to the harsh weather.

Tawse teaches a workshop called, "Inspired by the Garden: Herbal Blends," which shows people how to work with mint, sage, oregano and other herbs to make teas, lip balms, bath soaks and savory treats. You can use herbs you grow at home or buy at the store.
