U.S. Senate candidate organizes women's movement

January 8, 2010 (CHICAGO) Cheryle Jackson, the former Urban League president, hosted a brunch Friday in downtown Chicago to launch her new grassroots movement "WOW," which stands for "Women Organizing Women" and promotes empowerment and mentoring for women and girls.

People at the event shared stories about how they overcame challenges and impacted the lives of others. Their stories will be compiled in a book.

Jackson is running in the upcoming Democratic primary against Alexi Giannoulias, Jacob Meister and David Hoffman.
