January 11, 2010 (CHICAGO) --Charges have been filed in the shooting of a 4-year-old Chicago boy last week. Police have charged 26-year-old Juan Herrera with several charges, including aggravated battery of a child with a firearm.
Police say Herrera opened fire on a car last Wednesday night on the Northwest Side.
Police say Herrera was shooting at the boy's father and hit the child instead. The 4-year-old was shot in the leg and is recovering.
