Group donates pizza to troops abroad

January 12, 2010 (NAPERVILLE, Ill.) Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Mark Evans and his son started the group Pizza for Patriots after watching coverage of the Iraq war while eating pizza. They sent 2,000 pizzas to troops in 2008 and a record 28,000 pizzas in 2009.

Next month, they'll send enough pizza to feed 30,000 servicemen and women in Iraq, Kuwait and Kyrgyzstan.

This year, Gino's East is providing the deep dish pizza. DHL express is donating transportation services and dairy management incorporated is donating milk to go with the pizza.
