January 17, 2010 (MUNCIE, Ind.) --More than 100 Ball State University students are learning about emerging media by immersing themselves in digital technology where they live.Ball State's new emerging media "living-learning community" features a residence hall floor tricked out with the latest computers, televisions, video equipment and editing software. Officials say students who live in the community can film short movies or create media projects in the hallways since everyone on the floor knows they might end up on camera.
Jonathan Huer is Ball State's director of emerging technology and media development. He says the community helps students appreciate the creative freedom new technologies bring while reminding them to be responsible with new media.
