Ill. residents can sign up for appliance rebates

January 19, 2010 (CHICAGO) Starting January 31, consumers can get rebates for Energy Star heating and cooling equipment, as well as water heaters.

Rebates on other appliances are available from April 16 through 25, including dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines and room air conditioners. The appliances must be purchased in Illinois at participating retail stores or contractors.

The value of the rebates varies.
