Police seek info. in NW suburban armed robberies

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for information about two armed robberies that took place last week in unincorporated McHenry County.According to police, on January 29, a male suspect entered the Alden Quick Mart, 16420 Illinois Route 173 in Alden, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employee. The suspect fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as being approximately 5'10" tall, average build, wearing a dark colored hooded jacket or sweatshirt, an orange ski mask, and sunglasses.

On January 30, police say a male subject entered the Chemung Quick Mart, 24102 Illinois Route 173, in unincorporated Harvard, Illinois. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene southbound on foot. The suspect is described to be approximately 5'8" tall, wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt, an orange ski mask, and sunglasses.

On January 24, an armed robbery took place at the Lil Corner Store at 301 N. Division (Route 14) in the city of Harvard, according to police. The male suspect was between 5'8" and 6 foot, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, an orange face mask, and sunglasses. The suspect demanded money and displayed a handgun. The suspect left the scene on foot. The Harvard Police Department is investigating this incident in conjunction with the Sheriff's Office.

The suspect(s) in these incidents are considered armed and dangerous.
