Columbia College opens new media facility

February 5, 2010 (CHICAGO) Mayor Daley cut the ribbon Friday on the $21 million facility at 16th and State.

It will help get students ready for careers in TV, movies, game design and other interactive media.

"A city will be recognized by wonderful education institutions we have in our city, public and private, but that is the nucleus the soul of the city always the future of the city. I firmly believe that and to me Columbia College has stood out time and time again," said Daley.

After the ribbon cutting, acrobats demonstrated how a motion capture studio in the new facility translates images to computer animation.
