American Airlines added another fee for passengers. Anyone who wants to switch to another flight on their day of travel will have to pay $50.This eliminates the airline's standby policy which allows passengers to switch flights for free on same day flights as long as a seat is available.

Only high level frequent fliers first and business class travelers and passengers paying military fares will be allowed to fly standby for free.

The change goes into effect for tickets bought on or after February 22.
