Rail tie falls from 'el' tracks, smashes into car

February 13, 2010 (CHICAGO) It happened near the Sheridan Red Line stop. The tie fell on Tuesday.

The car's owner Audra Adomenas hadn't driven the car for a few days. So, she didn't know it had happened until she got an e-mail from her condo board.

"My main issue was the safety. Our baby could've been in the car at the time, or a passerby. There's a sidewalk nearby. That was my main concern," said car owner Audra Adomenas.

Adomenas' condo board leases parking spots under the el tracks from the CTA. She says it's not clear if either the condo's insurance or the CTA might reimburse her for the damages.
