City initiatives aim to support Hispanic businesses

February 16, 2010 (CHICAGO) The first is a bilingual Web site that gives entrepreneurs access to resources and programs. It also includes local financial resources and demographic data. The site - HispanicBIC.org - is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor.

"What the Web site does is open the possibilities of expansion, of growth. I think that's important, it's an incredible Web site," said Xavier Nogueras, president, Puerto Rican Chamber of Commerce.

The city also announced a series of free business workshops that will be taught in Spanish and the Small Business Solution Station. It will provide one-on-one business counseling programs.
