Gov. Quinn appointed Dr. Young last month.
The 86-year-old Dr. Young is an almost legendary physician. His patients have included Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Studs Terkel. He was president of both the Chicago Board of Health and the American public Health Association, he's been a radio medical commentator for 28 years, and he was chairman of internal medicine at the former Cook County Hospital.
